Ballet shoes wear. A lot. During the season, a dancer may use and wear 3 pairs of shoes, every week. and they cost a lot of money.

Richmond Ballet, the state ballet of Virginia, USA, our partner in the "Art for Understanding" project, sent "Matter of Color" group some of those used shoes, and each one of the group members painted one shoe. The shoes will be sold to raise donations for the ballet.
